Email in the near-perfect world.
Until a few years ago, every email sent to me showed up in my inbox.  My solution was to configure my email program's spam filter to send unwanted spam to my trash folder automatically.  This work great.  Ididn't have to sort through thousands of junk emails each day just to find the important emails.  I didn't have to worry about accidentally deleting an important email because it  happened to be wedged in between a couple rebate processor and viagra spam emails.  My spam filter was keeping the spam away.  Things were perfect.  Life was good, but this was about to change.

Whatever happened to, "If it ain't broke don't fix it?"
A couple years ago, 'Big Brother' (aka our Internet Email Servers, Hosts, and Internet Providers -IESHIP for short) intervened and decided that we were either not smart enough, didn't know what was best for us, or just shouldn't be allowed to make our own decisions as to which of our emails we should see.  Yes, in this democracy that we live in, our very own servers decided to start censoring our email.  It was for our own good, they said.

It is no longer just a SPAM problem.
That's right.  Now we not only have a SPAM problem, but we have an even bigger IESHIP problem.  Our IESHIP are are sending our important emails to the SPAM folder or trash folder before we even get a chance to see them.  So we have to sift through all the SPAM to dig our important emails out of the mess.  Some of it gets lost and/or accidentally deleted with the rest of the SPAM.  So some SPAM still gets through, but with this server-side censorship many of my important emails get blocked by the censors.   You think that's bad?  Wait - it gets even worse.

How could it possibly be worse than that?
Much of our email never even gets delivered.  I'll say it again.  Much of our email never even gets deliveredOur IESHIP are censoring much of our mail at the host/server level.  They have arbitrarily developed a point system for deciding if we get our mail or not.

Each of their so-called spam triggers is assigned a point value.  If the total points hits a certain value (determined by these censors), we will never see our email.  Even the simplest most innocent things can be spam triggers that affect total points; things such as having html in the message, having a URL that the censors arbritrarily blacklisted, and even bailing to have a blank line between the MIM header and the email body.  Good Grief!

I did complain to my host that they were blocking many of my important emails from people and companies with which I need to communicate.  Their response was and I quote, "If a certain sender is getting blacklisted, please let us know and we can whitelist him."  I told them one such sender that I wished them to stop blocking.  But their response was that they would not whitelist this sender because, and again I quote, "In short, regardless of what you are claiming, the domain in which the email is sent from . . . is a known domain that has appeared in spam and is thus blacklisted."

Our IESHIP have compiled a list of "SPAM triggers."  Each SPAM trigger is worth a certain amount of points.  If an email scores enough points, the email is bounced back to the sender without ever being delivered.  That means if you send an email to a prospect, that prospect will never receive that email if it contains enough of these SPAM triggers.

The list of SPAM triggers is growning daily.  You probably have guessed by now that the word, "free," is a spam trigger.  But did you also know that the URL, automaticbuilder.com, is also a spam trigger?  I have provided a partial list of SPAM triggers, but now that I got your attention. . .

What can we do?  How can we be sure our emails get delivered?

1.  Avoid using SPAM triggers in your emails, including those from your autoresponder.
Example:  AOL will flat out refuse to deliver any email with my sponsor, myberrytree.com,  in the email body.  As a result, my downline that uses AOL cannot get email from me that is important to their business.

2.  If you are a webmaster, use a URL redirect page.
Make a page such as mypage.htm, and install a redirect script on it.  You use www.mydomain.com/mypage.htm in your email correspondence.  Email recipient goes to  www.mydomain.com/mypage.htm and is redirected automatically to the proper page.

3.  Change a blacklisted URL at Tiny URL.
Or you can just use the conversion box below.  Another good use for Tiny URL is to disguise your affiliate links to prevent thieves from replacing your id with theirs and stealing your sales.

Enter a long URL to make tiny:
Example:  I just typed http://automaticbuilder.com/memberadmin into the box above.  Then I clicked the "Make TinyURL!" button.  It just made me a new URL, http://tinyurl.com/6abovz.  This new URL is the one I now use when I mention it in emails, because this new URL is not blacklisted.  The new URL goes to the same place as the old one.  Try it!

Be aware of these "SPAM triggers"  that may cause email filters to bounce your mail.

Redirect script:
Copy and paste this html into the metatags area which is in the <head> section of your html.  Don't forget to change the RED TEXT to the actual domain name and page of the website you want your visitors to see.  The number 0 is also an editable value.  Change the number to the number of seconds delay until the page being directed to appears.  A value of zero redirects with no delay.

   <meta http-equiv="Refresh" content="0; URL=http://myberrytree.com/bt97688">

Just in case the server is slow or hangs, I also paste the following html above the fold in the <body> section.
