First Steps

DEFINITIONS to terms and abbreviations used on this page are HERE.

Now you have your own online home business; how do you get the word out?
In other words, how do you get people to signup into your downline?  If no one knows you have a business or no one knows anything about your business, then nobody will signup into your downline.  That means no growth, no money, and eventually no business, because you will soon quit.

There are a few different methods you can use to promote your business, and there are several different ways that you can get your website(s) noticed and ultimately get signups from people you bring to your website(s).  There are mainly two avenues you can take to promote your business.  If you have enough money you can pay to promote it.  If you have more time than money, you can use some or all of the many free avenues of promotion.

Note:  most of the off-page links on this site open in a new window.

You basically have two options when deciding where to bring your prospects.
You can either bring them to the web page that the company provides for you, or you can become a webmaster and build your own web pages.  You can also use the Quick Start to Wealth Team Elite  marketing system which my sponsor Harold Bryant has created especially for our team.  The problems with sending people to the web page which the company gave you are:
    1.  You cannot make changes to the page.
    2.  You cannot add more pages or get inbound links to your website.
    3.  You cannot add a stats counter so you don't know who visited, when, from where, so you don't know which of your ads are working.
    4.  You cannot SEO your page to get higher search engine rankings.
    5.  You cannot capture leads (no way to collect contact information from your prospects).    (RETURN)

Now if your web page has no way to collect contact information from the prospects who visit, how are you going to reach those who visit your page and want more information, have questions, are undecided, etc.?  The answer is:  you are not going to reach them, and very few are likely to signup.

Most of us need to be convinced.  Most of us do not signup until after we have heard from the salesman several times.  Statistics show that, on the average, a person is exposed to an opportunity about 7 times before deciding to signup.  Do you think that when a person finally decides to signup for your program, that he is going to remember where he first heard about it?  Probably not.

Most likely, he will Google your company's name, he will click on the first site listed in the search results, and he will signup on that person's page.  You don't want that.  You did the work to get him to your page, so you deserve to get the credit for signing him up.  I'm not saying that all people that you send to your company website will do it this way, but the large majority will.  This leaves you with having spent lots of energy and time with very few signups in your downline to show for your efforts.  There are some better alternatives.  Read on.

How to capture leads if you decide you don't want to be a webmaster
You will capture your leads with a LCP .  This is simply a page which collects contact information from interested prospects who visit your web page so your auto-responder can follow up with sales letter emails.  If you decide to not be a webmaster with your own website hosted on your server, you will need anauto-responder such as Traffic Wave which I use.  See an example of one of the LCPs which comes with my Traffic Wave auto-responder account HERE.

How to capture leads if you do decide to be a webmaster
If you decide to be a webmaster, you will need an auto-responder such as included in Traffic Wave.   You can still use the LCP in Traffic Wave, but you also have the option of building your own unique LCPs and host them on your server.  You need to be unique, especially if you plan to use Traffic Exchanges as part of your promotion efforts.  See an example of a LCP which I created HERE.

By building your own web pages you can also add the "prospect contact form" to every page of your website, which I recommend.  Adding the contact form to your page is just a matter of copy and pasting - much easier than it looks.  I can give you Yahoo IM or phone instructions if you need.

Promotion without being a webmaster
Even without being a webmaster, you can still resolve problem #5 mentioned mentioned earlier.  You can use the LCPs and auto-responder which you get by being a Quick Start to Wealth Team Elite member which includes 2 different marketing systems.  The purpose of the LCP is to arouse interest and collect contact information so you can send your sales letters to prospects who visit your LCP.

Why do you need contact information?  It is because people do not usually join programs; they join people.  Use the contact information to establish a relationship with your prospects, remembering that most people do not join on the first contact.  In the following pages which explain different ways  a webmaster can promote, it is important to realize that many of these methods can also be used to promote your business - even if you are not a webmaster. Being a webmaster just increases your promotion options.
